The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of a Texas law that requires users to register their ages in order to access online services like social media, but opposed to the government’s need to monitor and filter information for minors.
The court’s recent decision on July 24 was paved the way for the Securing Children Online Through Parental Empowerment (SCOPE ) Act or House Bill 18 after two contests to the legislation.
