In addition to Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH), Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH), and Rural Pathways Excellence Partnership (R-PEP), several Texas public school districts have expanded education options to support individuals with occupation and college preparation.
House Bill ( HB) 120, which was passed during the 89th Legislative Session, increased funding for these types of programs and encouraged collaboration with community colleges, industry partners, and workforce boards. Additionally, it tripled the per-student P-TEC H allotment from$ 50 to$ 150 million, increased the number of subsidies students may receive for CTE certification exams, and increased the cap on new instructional facility allotments from$ 100 to$ 150 million.
