On December 9, the Arlington City Council voted 5 to 4 to support the state’s anti-discrimination law, which expanded to include people with disabilities and sexual orientation as secured groups.
The anti-discrimination provisions were first suspended on September 9, 2025, and they were used to stop any area code or policy that” confies with federal grant requirements, as determined by a legal viewpoint, a directive from a federal agency, or a court order, to the extent of such fight.”
