The Texas House of Representatives unanimously approved a bill that would outlaw the use of non-disclosure agreements ( NDAs ) in cases of child sexual abuse on Tuesday afternoon.
After its second reading, state representative Jeff Leach (R-Plano )’s House Bill ( HB) 748, known as” Trey’s Law,” received all 149 present votes in the chamber, similar to the show of support it received at its hearing in the House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee three weeks prior. Leach read the bill at the floor and explained its provisions, but almost everyone else sat back in lean.
