The 2024 Congressional Medal of Honor parade is on Thursday, April 25, 2024, and the holidays will move through Saturday, April 27th. Every year since 2001, the host city of Gainesville, Texas receives lots of MOH winners for three days of groups, banquets, special events, and a festival. A limousine will take passengers over 65 miles from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Gainesville for MOH actions.
The limousine consists of dozens of state and local company vehicles and around 600 motorcyclists. Among them are officers, firefighters, EMS, soldier’s organizations, Patriot Guard models, and hundreds of civil riders. The limousine spans five miles in length, closing Interstate 35 in some places to customers as it travels by it. Along the route, political organizations, community groups, and citizens range the freeway and group flyovers, holding signs and banners and cheering the parade.

The parade includes a wide variety of users, and about 70 percent of the members are soldiers. Although the main goal of the bodyguard is to recognize the MOH recipients, it is generally acknowledged that the majority of the supporters cheering along the way are there to recognize all those who have fought for our country.
” It’s a powerful knowledge. It’s heartbreaking to be a part of anything that recognizes some of America’s real heroes”.
Erika Armentrout, engine commander from Pampa, Texas
I’ve ridden with the MOH escort annually since 2017, and, indeed, the practice is moving. It is amazing to ride in a body of more than 500 bikes along an otherwise bare three-lane highway. But that’s only the start. Being able to speak with tens of veterans on that road while the parade is about to start is an educational and emotional journey on its own. The thousands of Americans who gathered to show their gratitude and assistance for the MOH consumers and soldiers in the parade are likewise enthralling.
” Of course, we’re mainly here for the MOH heroes, but those on the overpasses are there to show their loyalty and gratitude for all those who have served,” he continued. That means a lot, and we’re really appreciative”.
Rick Lossner, Combat Veterans Association part
The first reception in Gainesville will have about two dozen or so attending recipients in attendance. Winners are seated at tables where they visit the escort participants, provide signatures, and answer questions. Signs detailing their noble deeds adorn the walls, and, for me, that’s when the real value hits home. These are some of America’s best. Their confidence, humility, and mankind are astonishment- inspiring.
The Congressional Medal of Honor, the highest respect given to members of the U.S. government for extraordinary courage and courage above the call of duty, is now administered to sixty-three living recipients. The stories of the current MOH recipients can be found at the” Stories of Sacrifice” website at https ://www.cmohs .org/recipients.

No subscription or program is required for any motorcyclists who want to take part in the motorcade. On the outskirts of DFW Airport, users will obtain at a designated span of road ( to be announced on the website listed below ).
Riders will get organized and given a safety briefing at council, which is from noon to 2:00 PM. People arriving after 2 PM will not be permitted to join the escort. The parade will take the bus carrying the MOH recipients to a feast in Gainesville where everyone is invited to meet the heroes.
