After a heated primary that invoked controversy over the nation’s top-funded education foundation and dueling legal action, incumbent Texas Rep. Terri Leo Wilson (R-Galveston) decisively defeated businessman Nathan Watkins in Tuesday’s Republican primary election.
According to unofficial election results, Leo Wilson won 63 percent to Watkins’ 37 percent.
