Texas lawmakers traveled to the Hill Country on Thursday to hold their second joint hearing on the July 4 flooding where they heard testimony from local authorities, regional leadership, and community members impacted by the disaster that took the lives of more than 130 people.
The Joint Select Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Flooding convened in Kerrville with hundreds of locals in attendance, along with the leaders from both chambers of the Texas Legislature — House Speaker Dustin Burrows (R-Lubbock) and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
