Going Up To Fishing’s Roots For Kids This Summer

A ship struck the bridge that binds Galveston and Pelican Island on May 15. Texas Game Wardens assisted local, state, and federal authorities in preventing the accident and ensuring the safety and security of pleasure boat traffic. As personnel work to remove the ship, game wardens will continue to be present.

Along with our other state and federal partners, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Kills and Spills Team will continue to observe and assist in determining the state’s and national impacts on animals and fish.

On the other side of the area, Galveston Island State Park, which has not been affected, is situated.
