Lt. Gov. On Wednesday, Dan Patrick wrote a letter to Jennifer Shuford, a director of the Texas Department of State Health Services, informing them that he is “doubling down” on the DSHS to never grant Camp Mystic a new camping permit until the Texas Rangers have finished their ongoing investigations, including one that is currently pending.
25 campers and two counselors died at Camp Mystic next year as a result of the horrible flooding at the July 4 weekend, and a missing camper is still being sought.
