Obituary: Mrs. Lucia V. Hidalgo

March 01, 1931 – July 06, 2019

Lucia Valenzuela Hidalgo passed away Saturday, July 6,2019 in Odessa, Texas. She was born on March 1, 1931 in Dripping Springs, Texas to Teodoro Valenzuela and Encarnacion Falcon Valenzuela.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children Frank Hidalgo Jr. of Borger, TX, Elda Frazier (Warren) of Midland, TX, Velma Sylvas of Odessa, TX, and Eric Hidalgo (Felicia) of Pasadena, TX; grandchildren Xylia Hidalgo, Frankie Hidalgo III, Erik Hidalgo (Courtney), Erika Hidalgo, Jordan Frazier, Jason Frazier (Leslie), Irene Perez (David), Estevan Sylvas (Savannah), and Ramiro Sylvas (Arianna); great-grandchildren Zaelynn Licon and Lucy Lyrik Sylvas; sister Virginia Rendon (Leo) of San Antonio, TX; brothers Tomas Valenzuela (Virginia) and Catarino Valenzuela all of Camp Wood, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucia was preceded in death by her husband Frank Hidalgo Sr., parents Teodoro and Encarnacion Valenzuela, daughter Beatriz Perez, son Robert Hidalgo, sisters Elsa DeLeon, Cristella Valenzuela, Francisca Valenzuela, Adelita Valenzuela, Mary Romo, and Martina Lopez, brothers Claudio Valenzuela and Fidel Valenzuela.

The pallbearers that will carry her to her final resting place are her grandsons Erik Hidalgo, Estevan Sylvas, Ramiro Sylvas, her nephews Israel Garanzuay, Ruben Flores, Claudio Valenzuela, Stevan Hidalgo, and Oscar Valenzuela.

We thank Ernestina Hidalgo for her love and care of our mother. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Madison Medical Resort and STARR Hospice for their steadfast care of Lucia during her stay with them.

Viewing will be held 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Chapel, Camp Wood, Texas. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Camp Wood, Texas. Officiant Father Adrian Adamik. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Camp Wood, Texas.

Arrangements are under the personal care of Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood, Texas.
