Obituary: Manuel (Moe) Aguero Jr

Manuel Aguero of Camp Wood, Texas passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 in Uvalde, Texas. “Moe” as he was known by everyone was born in Camp Wood, TX on October 23, 1960 to Manuel and Guadalupe Aguero.

As a child he lived in Crane, TX for seven years until the family relocated to Camp Wood, TX where he attended school and graduated from NCHS. Moe spent several years working on ranches with his father as well as accompanying the Leonard Hernandez shearing crew and the Richard Aguero shearing crew. He also enjoyed accompanying his uncle Pablo Sifuentes sons on their working trips for many years.

Moe loved listening and dancing to music especially Country Western and Tejano music. He loved wearing his boots and cowboy hat. Moe was always ready for a good dance. Moe was also a very loyal Dallas Cowboy fan.

Moe enjoyed the company of others. One of his favorite things to do was drink coffee every morning at Casa Falcon while visiting with friends.  Moe loved his family and enjoyed all family gatherings and especially barbecuing with his brothers, sisters, and friends, sitting around a good fire, listening to music, and eating good food.    

Moe had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need. Moe displayed silent strength and courage throughout his life. Moe peacefully accepted the ups and downs of life, his faith in God never wavered. Moe was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed.

Moe was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Balderas Aguero, maternal grandparents, Donicio Sifuentes and Petra Sifuentes, paternal grandparents, Leandro Aguero Sr. and Margarita Aguero.

Moe married Emilda Moncivais in the month of October 2005 in Camp Wood, Texas.

Those left to honor and cherish Moe’s memory include his mother, Guadalupe Sifuentes Aguero of Camp Wood; wife, Emilda Moncivais Aguero of Uvalde; stepson, Ryan Parks; brothers, Arturo Aguero and wife Sandra of Artesia, NM and Jimmy Aguero and wife Maria of Sonora; sisters, Ramona Cano and husband Henry of Round Rock, Patsy Ruiz of Camp Wood, Laura Aguero of San Antonio, and Janie Aguero of Camp Wood; numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, January 3rd, 4th, and 5th, at Nelson Funeral Chapel ~ Camp Wood, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. each evening.

Pallbearers included Gilbert Valenzuela, Tony Hidalgo, Eliseo Aguero, Chavel Sanchez, Arthur Lee Aguero, Robbie Aguero, Danny Sifuentes, and Ricky Sifuentes.

Honorary pallbearer, Mark Martinez.

Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6th, 2020, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Camp Wood, Texas. Officiant Father Ken Dakin. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Camp Wood.
