Late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel said on Wednesday that the Federal Communications Commission” threatened” his show and its network, and that he will not tape an interview with Democratic U.S. Senator candidate James Talarico on Thursday.

Late-night show host Stephen Colbert ripped CBS for pulling his meeting with Talarico from the weather in February over fears that the Trump administration might object to early election. Colbert’s show’s assertion that CBS had banned Colbert’s discussion from airing was refuted.

After Talarico sat for an interview earlier this year, the FCC even opened an investigation into ABC’s” The Watch.”

Talarico raised$ 2.5 million in the 24 hours following the Colbert interview, which was broadcast on YouTube and received tens of millions of views. He accused business advertising executives at CBS of” selling out the First Amendment to curry favour with crooked officials” and attributed the FCC’s actions to a pattern of government overreach.

In February, Talarico said,” A threat to any of our First Amendment right is a threat to all of our First Amendment right.”
