They’ve been working hard all summer throwing 10,000 at large silver issues, so it’s time to put down the big gear( for the most part ) and began using our 2500 – 4000 size spins. By early November, many bass will be living in deeper waters or staging up to do so, particularly snook, as a result of the beginning of our cool sides, which typically occur around the end of October. I believe that the first cold front alerts the fish to the fact that something is happening and the obvious is approaching.
These seafood are starting to step up in large groups by the second or third little front, if not already, in preparation for a push to deeper waters that provide thermocline consistency. You can bet that the fish will be in the deepest water they can get by the end of the third before, or the first really large one. and in enormous institutions. If you’re fishing in the proper places, this can give anglers wonderful days on the water where they can catch snook after fish. At this time of year, my clients and I always use 100 % artificial lures, mostly bottom-bouncing rods and heavy, weak heads covered in our preferred soft plastics.
Even though it’s getting colder outside during these cooler months, there are still plenty of very warm days with significant heat adjustments. By 10 a.m., you’re sweating profusely. The times when the bass are most effective are typically these. Topwaters, one of my favorite techniques for mangrove snapper, can provide some excellent options during these warmer time in November and December! At this time of year, topwater lures run parallel to sea walls and parked ships, and these fish have a tendency to become extremely aggressive toward them.
Around this moment, flats fishing for redfish and trout also picks up for me. Redfish and fish are more likely to harm artificial lures throughout the day due to the shallow waters’ cooling water temperatures. This time of year, cracks in margarita-colored water are the solution. . ).
The fact that fish typically feed during the warmest part of the day, about the exact opposite from in the summer when you’re trying to avoid the midday, is perhaps one of my favorite parts of this time of year. Basically, I’m more enthusiastic about it. Who doesn’t like to sleep in and also get the bite? I typically fish between the ages of 11 and 4 or 12 and 5.
