Similar to the old hottest item, property tax reform, it’s the new hottest thing in the Texas Capitol. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick unveiled his most recent strategy to lower income payments, building on the$ 51 billion in total property tax relief that the state budget has spent on the last few years.
Patrick made his suggestion for the upcoming regular session of the Legislature in January 2027 at a press event on Tuesday:
