A lawsuit to remove West Texas District Attorney (DA) Sarah Stogner from office was filed this week, accusing her of refusing to enforce state drug laws following her viral video in which she smoked a marijuana joint purchased in New Mexico.
The suit invokes Texas’ “rogue prosecutor” law, which allows citizens to petition for the removal of district attorneys who openly decline to prosecute certain crimes via a trial process.
