Active-duty war, honorably discharged soldiers, and the immediate family members of a service representative who passed away while serving are now eligible for one of three fresh Parklands Passports thanks to the recent legislation passed during the previous legislative session. The card is eligible for free entrance to all Texas State Parks thanks to these free passports.
Active Duty, Veterans, and Gold Star Parklands Passports are the new types that can be purchased at any state park. These cards join the four different passports already in use: Senior Partial, Senior Full, Disability, and Disabled Veterans, each of which has its own set of requirements, proof of identification, etc.
For someone now serving in the US Armed Forces, the Active Duty pass entitles them to free entry to Texas State Parks. This includes people of the Reserve and National Guard as well as the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force. The U.S. Department of Defense ( DOD ) will require applicants to present a current photo identification and proof of active duty service.
A company representative who was honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces is eligible for free entrance to Texas State Parks thanks to their Veterans card. A valid photo identification is required, along with a DOD-issued veteran’s identification card, state-issuance of drivers’ licenses, identification cards with U.S. military veteran designation, military discharge papers ( DOD from DD214 ), or veterans’ health insurance cards issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
A surviving spouse, family, child, or child of a person who passed away while serving in the United States Armed Forces is eligible for free entrance to Texas State Parks under the Gold Star card. Mothers and siblings are also included in this. No one is available, not even your grandparents, grandkids, aunts, uncles. Each qualified household part needs to submit a Parklands passport application. For the purpose of issuing a card, applicants must present three documents: valid photo id, company member’s proof of fatality, and evidence of their relationship to the deceased.
