A Texas news source reported incorrectly in a new post that” LeeBeth,” a great white shark tagged by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, had been spotted off South Padre Island on July 10th. LeeBeth is now swimming in the waters off Nova Scotia, according to statistics from the Sharktivity app. She’s thousands of miles from Texas, and her last latency was recorded on July 14.
LeeBeth was last tracked in the Gulf off the coast of Florida on May 6 and has n’t been on the Texas Coast since March 7; this information is likely to have been referenced in outdated information.
LeeBeth’s voyage has been an extraordinary one. Her actions have revealed significant insight into the migratory patterns of great white sharks into the Gulf of Mexico since they were first tagged by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
After being tagged Dec. 2023 in South Carolina, LeeBeth traveled a considerable distance, moving across the Gulf to the Texas/Mexico border, gradually moving along the Gulf Coast and up the Eastern Seabord to Canada.
