Two former allies who won election to the board of the state’s third largest school district with Republican backing in 2021 will not return to office next year after both lost to a Democratic candidate and progressives declared victory in two other open seats Tuesday.
According to unofficial election results for Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) board of trustees, Lesley Guilmart, Cleveland Lane Jr., and Kendra Camarena — all backed by Democratic elected officials and organizations — won Positions 5, 6, and 7.
