Congressman John Carter (R-TX-31) won outright his Republican primary for re-election in a crowded field of challengers on Tuesday night, including conservative social media figure Valentina Gomez Noriega and the “ShamWow Guy” infomercial star.
Carter secured 60 percent of the vote as of 10 p.m. on Tuesday night, trailed by Richard Hamden, who collected 8.83 percent, per the Texas Secretary of State’s unofficial results.
