Bandera County Republican Women welcomes Gold Star family

By the Bandera Bulletin staff, September 30, 2020

The Bandera County Republican Women said it was honored to have Wayne and Marcy Voss as guest speakers for its next meeting, on Thursday, Oct. 1.

They will present a program on the Gold Star Mothers and families. The Vosses, of Boerne, became involved with the Gold Star Mothers in 2013 after losing their son, Air Force Capt. Mark “Tyler” Voss, when the KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft he was piloting went down over Kyrgyzstan.

The Gold Star Mothers serves the military families of those whose sons and daughters were lost while serving our country.

The Republican Women also said it is happy to resume having its meetings at the Silver Sage senior center in the dining hall, located at 803 Buck Creek Dr. in Bandera.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social half-hour and light refreshments, followed by speakers and the general meeting at 6 p.m.

Also scheduled to attend the meeting is Jennifer Ivey, the Republican candidate seeking the District 1 seat on the State Board of Education in November. District 1 includes Bandera County.

Meetings are open to the public, and men are always welcome to attend. Please show respect with masks and following social distancing rules.
