The Texas-based American Sustainable Business Council sued the state on Thursday for violating its laws prohibiting position funding from being invested in or sold to individuals who are perceived to be boycotting the oil and gas industry.
Senate Bill ( SB ) 13, passed in 2021, prohibits the state from contracting with or investing in businesses found to be” ]boycotting ] energy companies”. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts was given the task of keeping a list of offenders up and coordinating their detention of state funds as a result of the costs.
