Beginning June 20, 2024, the fresh Red Drum dimension and regular creel restrictions will be in effect.
The new laws are as follows:
- Daily Creel: 4- fish regular limit per fish
- Size Limit: 18- foot required and 27- inches maximum full length
- Bull Red: keeping Red Drum over 27 inches is prohibited
- It will be prohibited for the captain and crew to keep Red Drum on contract or headboats while on a for-hire vacation.
On charter trips, charter captains and crew members will still be able to practice how to find red drum, but they will not be able to do so in any way against any vessel’s restrictions.
