A former Harris County criminal court judge who ran as a Democratic Socialist and pledged to “demolish” the state’s criminal justice system from within lost an elegance of a state’s ban on his in-person conduct and alleged violations of state legislation.
Judge Franklin Bynum was criticized by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct (SCJC) in August, citing 31 studies of truth. He later filed an appeal and made a common remark to the state board calling himself a “political hack” while blaming then-Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. In October, the SCJC issued a second censure to Bynum for making false statements about Administrative Court Judge Susan Brown and Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan Hecht.
