
A request for a temporary restraining order ( TRO ) from a Harris County court was turned down, preventing the enforcement of a Texas law that mandated the display of donated Ten Commandments in public school classrooms.
Three Houston-area mothers who had filed a lawsuit against Senate Bill ( SB ) 10’s validity on the grounds of existing state law rather than federal law, as all previous lawsuits on the issue have done, heard the case for the TRO on Friday in the case Roth v. Texas before Judge Bruce Brain of the 165th Civil Court.
