The City of Kemah has requested a lecture from the Supreme Court of Texas in response to allegations that the city broke state law by closing a well-known entertainment district street, which owners claim has damaged their company.
In July 2024, city officials installed material bollards and posters stating “road closed” and closed Kemah’s 6th Street to all vehicles, including shipping and service trucks, golf carts, and bicycles.
