Following their confinement in South Texas in February, a family of five with three boys who are accomplished mariachi performers who performed at the U.S. Capitol last year has been released from emigration detention.
Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (R-TX-15 ) made the announcement on March 9 that Antonio Gámez-Cuéllar, 18, was being detained by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE), and Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX-20 ) made the announcement shortly after.
