Texas Republicans flipped the lone competitive state Senate race with Adam Hinojosa’s defeat of state Sen. Morgan LaMantia (D-South Padre Island).
“The election results in our District are nothing short of historic. Our campaign has changed the balance of power in South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley,” Hinojosa said, declaring victory. “Our campaign benefited greatly from endorsements crossing the spectrum from Eddie Lucio, Jr. to Donald Trump. I’ve got a long list of other luminaries to thank, Senator Cruz, Governor Abbott, Lt. Governor Patrick, Attorney General Paxton and more.”
