TPWD Taking Comments on Migratory Bird Regs

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) 2023–24 proposed migratory game bird regulations mirror last year’s season lengths, timing and daily bag limits. No changes were required due to federal regulatory modifications for season length or daily bag limits. In addition, staff are not proposing any substantive changes to any migratory game bird hunting season.

TPWD is taking public comment on the proposed changes to the 2023–24 Migratory Game Bird Proclamation, with input to be considered before any action by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission at its March 23 public hearing.

Opportunities to provide comments for or against these proposals include:

Online: At TPWD public comment page until March 22.

Phone or email: Comments on the proposed changes may be submitted to Small Game Program Director Shaun Oldenburger at (512) 389-4778, email: [email protected]

In person: The TPW Commission will take public comment on the proposed changes at their meeting on Thursday, March 23, in Austin. Public testimony will normally be limited to three minutes per person
