Leaf Can Help Animals

What a mad journey it will be to go hunting in Texas in 2023!
Anglers were forced to adapt as what had initially been a typical summer immediately descended into an unfavorable blast furnace along the coast. We salute all the fish who competed in the tournament this year, but the 2023 CCA Texas STAR carried on its longstanding tradition of honoring the magnificent resources of our position. Every angler who joins CCA and takes part in STAR contributes significantly to the organization’s ability to stay at the vanguard of conservation issues so that we can preserve our southern resources for future generations. We are all aware of how addictive it can be when a redfish slams our spoons or an enraged striped salmon erupts on topwater. Scenes like those does continue to occur for many anglers as a result of your involvement and support, and we will always be grateful to the members who are willing to support CCA Texas’ admirable mission.
There’s no denying that it was challenging to undergo a full day on the water this summer due to days and days of temperatures above 100 degrees in several locations, but CCA people are known for going above and beyond to make just one more solid, and their patience paid off in 2023. From Sabine to South Padre this season, 30 % more redfish with STAR tags were caught along the beach. Seven of the ten red-tag prizes offered( five Ford / Haynie / Mercury truck boat combos and three packages made up of those two ) were claimed by winners. Winners claimed all of the blue-tag awards for Tran Sport / Mercury combos. Nearly 25 % of the 120 redfish that were tagged and released were caught, which is a remarkable amount! Ironically, despite the fact that both red and blue identified fish were released at the same time at every place by our CCA Release Team volunteers, red tag fish outnumbered orange sticker catches by a three to one margin. 2023 was really chock-full of surprises!
We are incredibly proud and appreciative to reveal that over the course of the tournament’s past, children have received$ 7, 475, 000 in scholarships. These scholarships significantly alter the course of many of these children’s life, and it is a strong factor for all of us to participate in. We fish because we enjoy it, but for some of these children, just going hunting in STAR can be a life-changing experience.

Additionally, we’ve made certain that these scholarships can be applied to a variety of needs with as much flexibility as possible. These fellowships are no longer only available to reputable colleges and universities. Otherwise, if they so choose, all high school graduates may apply for scholarships to reputable professional or trade schools and technical training programs. It makes a lot of sense to pay$ 10 for the kids or grandkids under 17 to fish STAR when you consider the incredible impact those scholarships can have. No matter what, even if they don’t win, they are automatically entered in a drawing for the$ 25, 000 learning.
We can all be proud of the incredible work that CCA Texas is still doing and the effects STAR has on many anglers. The paragraph recently pledged$ 5 million to restore oyster reefs along our beach, which is arguably the most significant contribution we can make to the health of our maritime ecosystem. This program will greatly benefit Texas bays and estuaries while also protecting one of our most valuable aquatic habitats. When you fish STAR, you help organizations like this and many others. For the Texas beach, the coming has never looked brighter.
THE BEST TIME TO CHECK THE BOX IS RIGHT Today!
It is obvious that now that 2023 STAR is behind us, it is time to focus on 2024, and we are still providing members with an additional opportunity to register as soon as possible. A 21-foot Dargel Skout / Mercury 150HP engine / McClain trailer boat package is up for grabs for anyone who enters the 2024 STAR between now and Dec. 15 in a drawing. The Double Early Bird access time doubles your chances of winning the prize package and gets rid of the possibility of forgetting to sign up before your first fishing trip the following summer. Don’t leave anything to chance; sign up for the 2024 STAR Double Early Bird and be ready for another exciting summer of hunting! Keep in mind that once you see the label, it’s too late to record and succeed.
We hope to see you all back in the water in 2023 and thank you for a fantastic month!
