This week, a group of professors filed a lawsuit against the Texas Tech University ( TTU) System and Chancellor Brandon Creighton, accusing the former state senator of “imposing a straitjacket” on faculty members.
On Wednesday, the Texas American Association of University Professors, an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, filed a lawsuit against Creighton and the TTU System Board of Regents in the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that Creighton’s two notes to university were infringed upon by the First and 14th Amendments. The notes forbids faculty from instilling or promoting a variety of cultural beliefs, and they forbid faculty from teaching only the male and female sexes.
