The Texas Senate Committee on Business and Commerce met for a nearly 16-hour hearing on July 29 to discuss the state of the Texas grid and the potential implementation of new 765-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines.
The proposed $33 billion project would span the width of the state and aim to deliver East Texas energy to what officials indicate is a growing grid reliability problem in West Texas.
