The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is expanding the number of state parks available for Texans to visit and enjoy the outdoors by acquiring 1,720 acres in Uvalde County near Garner State Park.
The new park, which will be named Bear Creek State Park, was purchased for $33.5 million and will be developed using a portion of the $1 billion state park endowment fund approved by voters in 2023.
