After the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday granted a remain of a lower court committee’s decision against the new lines, Texas’ just redistricted congressional map will continue to be in effect for the 2026 key.
The El Paso-based national administrative panel, which down last month, decided that the State of Texas needed to seek a stay of that decision because it unlawfully took cultural factors into account when redrawing the bill. The Office of the Attorney General ( OAG ) then filed an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, citing a number of the ensuing controversies made by the panel’s sole dissenter, Judge Jerry Smith.
