In the expected final hours of the second special session, Gov. Greg Abbott, House Speaker Dustin Burrows (R-Lubbock), and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick are reportedly holding hours-long closed-door meetings over how to ban or regulate THC. Sources close to the situation said the governor and his team worked closely with state Rep. Briscoe Cain (R-Deer Park) on House Bill (HB) 309, which could be a template for negotiations later in the evening — or even for a third special session.
