The U.S. Department of Justice ( DOJ) determined that five Texas Juvenile Justice Centers treated detained minors inadvertently.
The DOJ detailed a lengthy investigation into the Texas Juvenile Justice Department ( TJJD), which it claimed violated the Individuals with Disabilities Act ( IDEA ) and the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ) and violated children’s constitutional rights in five locations throughout Texas.
