Texas Highway Patrol Signs a” Task Force” Agreement to Implement Immigration Laws

The Texas Highway Patrol and the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division have incorporated into the 287 ( g ) federal immigration enforcement agreement’s task force model.
Senate Bill ( SB ) 8, which was passed in the 89th Legislature, authorizes local or state law enforcement to enter into agreements with ICE to enforce immigration laws.
