The Texas App Store Accountability Act, which was passed in the 89th Legislature last year, was proposed by Students Engaged in Advancing Texas ( SEAT ) and the Computer and Communications Industry Association (CCIA ).
Senate Bill ( SB ) 2420 mandates parental consent for app store purchases and downloads for people under the age of 18 and requires operators to verify the age of consumers.
