Georgetown, Texas’ Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.( PHW ) program has been re-established.
Soldiers and active duty military service members in need will receive physical and emotional treatment and recovery from this powerful program.
For Veterans in need, the PHW program offers free on-the-go standard fly fishing, travel casting, flies tying, wire creating classes, and outings.
” I’ve participated in North Carolina for a few years and served as an Volunteer for only over that year. I was disappointed to learn that the native program had been shut down after returning to Georgetown last year, says Georgetown Program Lead David Perez.” We decided it would be helpful to re-start the program after discussing it with the San Marcos Project Lead and state leadership. Volunteering is a vital way to give back to those who have served their country, and PHW can offer local Veterans great comfort and support.
Our dedication to our Veterans to offer a path to resilience along their own healing journeys is at the core of Project Healing Waters. For us, it’s about connection and society, as well as spending time together on the water, at the strapping grip, and in the rod-wrapping place, which benefits not only our Veterans but also our volunteers and followers. With our 230 + programs spread across the nation, revitalizing a plan and bringing it back into the fold improves access for Veterans in need to an expanding community of encouraging other Veterans, volunteers, and followers.

The M / SGT Ben D. Snowden VFW Post 8587, located at 1000 North College Street in Georgetown, Texas 78626, will host the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Along with regular casting and fly fishing, the software will also be present at Living Waters Fly Fishing Shop’s Wednesday Night Fly Tying events in Round Rock, Texas. Demos in Georgetown, Texas’ San Gabriel Park. The San Gabriel Fly Fishers, who offer volunteer coaches and knowledgeable fly fishing knowledge and skills for the program’s disabled veteran members, support the initiative.
