Republican Denise Villalobos is projected to handily defeat Democrat Solomon Ortiz Jr. after squaring off for the South Texas seat in House District (HD) 34 on Tuesday.
With 90% of the vote reported, Villalobos leads by 10.8 percent with 28,509 votes out of 51,464 total cast, according to Decision Desk HQ at the time of publication.
