An Arkansas gentleman was cited by law enforcement in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, on November 1 for alleged battle fraud.
Officials cited Andrew Riels, 27, of Crossett, Ark., for hunting competition fraud and violating federal business laws.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission ( AGFC) Enforcement Division provided information about Riels stealing a buck from Arkansas and bringing it into Louisiana’s big buck contest.
During the investigation, officials learned that Riels improperly harvested a 15-point buck during improper time on Sept. 8 near Crosset, Ark. Later that evening, Rileys entered the penny into the Bastrop Simmons Sporting Goods Big Buck Contest. AGFC police officials cited Riels on Oct. 30 for his illegal hunting activity.
Hunting contest fraud results in a$ 3, 000 fine and a year in jail. Interstate commerce laws can be broken by a person who fines them between$ 900 and$ 950 and spends up to 120 days in jail.
