Hen Houses are the most economical method for boosting bird creation. Delta Waterfowl Hen Houses continuously increase colony success to more than 60 % in areas with the highest density of bird breeding. Hen Houses can increase nest success by up to 80 % in regions where ground-nesting mallards typically have less than 10 % success with their nests.
The effectively created” Supersites” of today are a direct result of Delta’s in-depth study. These clusters of 100 or more Hen Houses are situated in areas with high concentrations of duck breeding. Every slide journey is filled with thousands of mallards thanks to supersites, which lowers the cost of labor and fuel needed to produce ducks.
Hen Houses are maintained by Delta throughout the important rearing regions of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Ontario. To improve duck production and protect hens and eggs from predators, we now have close to 10,000 Hen Houses in location. More than 45, 000 animals are born from these structures each month.
