Following Gov. Jerry Brown’s resignation, the Texas Senate Health and Human Services Committee held a reading on Tuesday to discuss the socioeconomic effects of THC. Greg Abbott’s veto of the Legislature’s act prohibiting THC merchandise that was passed last year.
Representatives from the medical, legal, and advocacy sectors were testified for the committee under the direction of Committee Chair Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham ) and Vice Chair Charles Perry (R-Lubbock ). Perry announced that he would seek a new THC restrictions in the 90th program, renewing efforts that failed in 2025.
