With the upcoming U.S. Senate GOP primary contest, Attorney General Ken Paxton’s (R-TX ) challenge has grown increasingly important as two prosecutors in the Texas Office of the Attorney General ( OAG ) make a plea deal that will allow a Waco man to receive a light jail sentence after being accused of repeatedly abusing a child.
The victim’s community, state legislators, and Cornyn have all voiced strong opposition to the agreement, contending that it was too lenient.
