Three new September polls show that with only one month until early voting begins on October 19th, state representative James Talarico (D-Austin ) consistently ahead of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the U.S. Senate race.
ReconMR’s monitoring poll, which was formerly the Texas Pulse surveys, was continued with a September Texas Poll of 614 likely voters that revealed Democratic candidates gaining ground over Democrats in the state.
According to Emerson College‘s poll of 1, 000 probable citizens, about half of voters were “more excited about voting in November” as a result of the Republican National Convention’s 2026 agreement.
The top three factors that influenced their election were “economy and jobs,” inflation and cost of living, and immigration and the border, according to a Mason-Dixon Polling and Strategy surveys of 625 registered Texas citizens.
U.S. Senate
Paxton continues to trail Talarico in polling. He won the ReconMR poll, which showed him to have 43 % of the vote, compared to 47 % for Talarico, who had previously had 47 % in July.
In the new poll, ReconMR Senior Research Analyst Lindsey Hendren noted that 97 percent of Democrats support Talarico, while only 87 percent help Paxton, that” Paxton’s Senate charge is being undermined by defections from within his own group.”
Almost all voters say they want their party to win the Senate after November, which highlights Paxton’s weakness in his own party, according to Hendren.
With 46 percent of the vote, Mason-Dixon held a 3-point prospect over Paxton. The attorney general received higher polls in East Texas and West Texas, where they were 58 % and 52 %, respectively, while Talarico received higher polls in his native state of Central Texas and South Texas, where they were 57 % and 54 %, respectively.
In Paxton’s native Dallas-Fort Worth, the two individuals were tied for the top spot.

Abbott received 48 % and Hinojosa received 41 %, according to the Mason-Dixon poll, which indicates an even wider gap between the two gubernatorial candidates.
ReconMR disregarded this pattern, favoring Hinojosa with 49 percent to 45 percent, a change from its July surveys, in which Abbott placed second with 46 percentage to Hinojosa’s 45 percent.
Even though Hinojosa is favored to win the election, Hendren said,”… they don’t consider she’ll win the election.” ” About 62 percent of people who are asked who they believe will get the governor’s election say Abbott. Almost a third of Hinojosa supporters believe Abbott will win the election in the end.
