
A group of Texas car dealerships are facing administrative charges from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC ), alleging that they “unwanted and higher-priced add-ons” targeted black and Latino consumers.
Asbury Automotive Group, the owner of the three Dallas-based David McDavid used car dealerships, are alleged to have” charged customers for add-ons they did not agree to, misled consumers into believing add-ons were required, and charged Black and Latino consumers more than non-Latino white customers for the same products, including add-ons”.
