The government shutdown has now hit 37 days, breaking the record for the longest in American history, and air travel is expected to hit some turbulence with a reduction in flights in and out of some major airports across the U.S.
Earlier this week, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that 40 major airports would see a 10 percent reduction in air traffic. “We had a gut check of what is our job,” Duffy said.
