Pete Arredondo, the former police chief of the original Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, has moved to overturn several charges brought against him in connection with the 2022 Robb Elementary School killing.
Arredondo was charged with 10 counts of child danger in June 2024, alleging that he was to blame for a stalled law enforcement comment and failing to adequately defend the shooting victims. Questions were raised about the management of the law enforcement at large after a 77-minute gap between the entrance of police on the scene and the shooter’s takedown.
