
On Saturday, November 4, 2023, during Lone Star Rally, five people and the people of those hurt in a shooting event are in our thoughts and prayers. Around 11:00 p.m., shots were fired on Galveston Island’s The Strand between 21st and 22nd Streets. In severe to important conditions, five people were brought to the hospital. Their names have not been made public. One accident has been reported by NBC-13.
According to the Galveston Chief of Police, Doug Balli, in an interview with KPRC – 2 reports, Lone Star Rally has never previously witnessed gun violence of this magnitude. According to CNN, a person of interest has been detained for inquiring but has not been charged. There is currently no additional information regarding potential offenders available at this time.

While officers looked into the matter, KHOU – 11 reported that people with bicycle parked in a four-block section of the The Strand were unable to retrieve their home. The largest four-day protest in Texas, the Lone Star Rally, brought an estimated 400,000 motorcycle enthusiasts to Galveston Island this year. The last day of the celebration is now, Sunday, November 5.
