A 14-month-old captive male white-tailed deer at the Kerr Wildlife Management Area ( WMA ) research facility has a suspect-positive case of Chronic Wasting Disease ( CWD), according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department ( TPWD ) biologists. All imprisoned white-tailed deer underwent ante-mortem assessment as part of ongoing research, which led to the detection.
