Democratic precinct chairs in Houston held a forum featuring five candidates running in the special election to fill the unexpired term of the late U.S. Rep. Sylvester Turner, but with the notable absence of state Rep. Jolanda Jones (D-Houston).
Although Jones announced her entry into the Congressional District (CD) 18 race in June, she was not included in the forum. But she did release a statement regarding her absence.
